In the period January-February 2024, educational campaigns regarding the sources of marine water pollution and initiatives to reduce them were carried out as part of the activities of the project BGENVIRONMENT-2.003-0006 "Reduction of marine litter from land-based sources in a target water area of the territory of the municipality of Pomorie in one with an educated and informed society in relation to the pollution of sea waters", financed under the Program "Environmental Protection and Climate Change" of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
Seven teachers from schools from Pomorie and Aheloy participated in the two-day training for teachers of educational subjects, including educational material in the field of the environment, as well as the Norwegian project partner, who presented good practices from their experience on applicability and reuse of collected waste, which was the topic of the seminar.
20 students from Vocational High School of Tourism "Aleko Konstantinov" - Pomorie and 22 students from "Ivan Vazov" Secondary School, Pomorie, aged 7-12 grades. The students listened with interest to the presented materials and actively participated with opinions and suggestions for reducing waste and preventing seawater pollution.
The Municipality of Pomorie implements the project in partnership with the SNC "Local Initiative Fishery Group - Pomorie" and the Norwegian company International Development Norway AS.
